Dips lays off 17 employees

Dips AS is laying off a number of employees.

This is revealed in a press release.

– Processes like this are a strain on everyone involved, but it is important to stress that the employees must be well looked after. We are making these necessary adjustment measures precisely to ensure the employees and the company’s solvency by strengthening the overall delivery power in the longer term, says general manager Thomas Smedsrud.

Departments in Bodø, Tromsø, Trondheim and Oslo are affected – and in total the company will reduce the number of employees by 17 positions.

A process is now underway to clarify which roles and which resources are affected.

– The downsizing is part of a larger restructuring process that is absolutely necessary to be able to succeed with our strategic initiatives going forward. It is primarily about ensuring that our core product DIPS Arena is the market’s most user-friendly and is delivered on all relevant user surfaces, such as mobile, says Smedsrud and adds:

– Arena must be developed for the Web and delivered as a service to be delivered frequently and continuously to end users. In addition, we are betting heavily on artificial intelligence and language technology as a central part of the core of tomorrow’s journal system.

He points out that in order to achieve this, they must ensure financial sustainability, sharpen their own expertise and renew the organisation.

Dips was acquired by the investment company Awilhelmsen Capital in 2018, and the company owns 65 percent of the shares.
