The yellow, triangular warning with a large snowflake on it is well known after a long winter. Now it returns after the first warm days of spring and extends over almost the whole of southern Norway.
– What have we done wrong to get this now?
– Others will have to answer for that, I haven’t done anything wrong, but we will receive rainfall on Thursday and it will be minus temperatures in connection with the rainfall. This applies to large parts of southern Norway, but the danger warning particularly applies to Eastern Norway and down towards Agder and up towards Stavanger, says state meteorologist Espen Biseth Granan to NTB.
Warns against summer tyres
If this snowy weather had come in January, it is not certain that it would have qualified for a yellow triangle and danger warning, even though there may be between five and 25 centimeters of snow.
– Now there are only roads and many have switched to summer tyres. We want to inform you that there will be a change in the weather, says Granan.

The state meteorologist says that, as so many times this winter, it looks like there will be snow in Agder. But after this setback for spring, temperatures are rising again.
– At the weekend there will be more southerly winds and then the temperature will rise significantly in most places and the snow will melt. In a transitional phase on Friday, it will eventually rain. Further through the weekend it will be so mild that precipitation will come as rain.
Do not promise 17 degrees
– And Yr says that it can be 17 degrees in Oslo?
– I’m not sure if it will be that mild, but I think we can talk about double-digit degrees of heat.
A factual statement is in order here: The weather reports we find on Yr are untouched by human hands. They are therefore not made by meteorologists, but by the computers at the Meteorological Institute.
