– I can’t quite understand what lies behind what seems like such hatred towards skiers, says Astrid Olstad Normann from Bodø.

On Wednesday, she was going to go around Soløyvannet in Bodø. The trip started with fresh ski tracks, but after a few hundred meters Normann got a surprise.

At the bottom of a long hill, the fresh ski track was broken.

– I’ve come across people stepping on the ski track a bit, but this was so striking. Here, the person in question had walked consistently in the track itself for around 300 metres, says Normann.

– It was impossible to ski as the track was, so I had to go outside.

She herself likes to go on foot.

– But it would never occur to me to do something like that. It must have been very heavy too, as it was quite soft on the ski slope that day.

Astrid Olstad Normann published a small post in the Facebook group “På ski i Bodø”, which has caused quite a reaction.

Ann-Heidi Pettersen posted this post on Facebook. She is greatly provoked by those who step in the ski track.

Lack of respect?

The discussion about how far it is safe to walk on the ski track comes up every winter.

Although Astrid Olstad Normann usually stays away from the ski slopes when she is not wearing skis, she realizes that people also go there.

But she believes at the same time that there are limits.

– I very rarely post things on Facebook, but I thought this qualified for it.

Why do you think it causes such a big reaction?

– As I experience it, there is a lack of understanding or a lack of consideration for others. It’s fair enough that you don’t enjoy skiing yourself, but I’m surprised that you want to deny others that joy.

Is it within walking distance on the ski slopes?

Yes, we can go wherever we want ♂️
