A person died in an accident in Seljord – NRK Vestfold and Telemark – Local news, TV and radio

The deceased is a man in his late 40s, the police told NRK. The accident must have happened in a social class.

– I think we have a fairly good overview of the sequence of events, so far it appears to be a tragic accident, says police attorney Bjørn Bunkholt Sæter.

The police attorney says that it is a sit-down lawnmower that is involved in the sequence of events.

– We do not want to go into the details of exactly how this happened, because we will be interviewing witnesses who are said to have seen the incident.

Last night, the police carried out technical investigations and questioned several witnesses at the scene.

– We will question several witnesses today, to try to clarify the course of events more closely, says the police attorney.

The police will examine the lawnmower to find out if there was anything wrong with it.

One person charged

– A man in his 20s has been charged with violating the Road Traffic Act § 3. Which is the provision that deals with negligent driving of a motor vehicle, says Sæter.

The accused was present at the party.

– We have taken blood samples from the man, it is related to the circumstances surrounding the incident there. The answer to the blood test will show whether there has been any influence in the picture.

The police have so far not questioned the accused, but the police prosecutor states that the accused and the deceased man knew each other.

– He and everyone else who was present at the incident last night were strongly affected by what happened.

It is not appropriate to target other people.

– This is a tragic accident.

The accident must have happened at 10.34pm on Friday evening.

The police do not know exactly how many people were present, but Sæter states that it is about 15-20 people.

– Those who have been present are looked after by the municipality’s crisis team, says Sæter.

The next of kin have been notified.
