There is a fire at an address in the Grensen area in central Oslo. The smoke is visible from Nettavisen’s offices in Akersgata.

At 18.07, the fire service reports that they have arrived.

According to the 110 central office, it is all about a building fire. The extent of the damage is not disclosed.

At 6.25 p.m., the building was extinguished.

– Severe roof fire

To Nettavisen, duty commander in Oslo 110 central, Lars Lindal, tells that they are on the scene with many resources.

– There is a severe roof fire. WE don’t have a complete overview, says Lindal.

He says that they have sent many cars to the scene.

– Many are in action, and many are on standby, in case they are needed immediately.

Open flames

The police write that it is probably a fire on a roof terrace.

At 18.14 they write this about the situation:

– There are open flames on the roof, and massive smoke from the site. Residents and others in the area are asked to remove the smoke, close windows and turn off ventilation systems.

And continues:

– The emergency services are on the scene. Efforts are being made to gain an overview and control of the situation.

Open flames can be seen on the roof of the burning building.

One of Nettavisen’s reporters at the scene reports that the emergency services are using a drone to get an overview. An ambulance helicopter is also in the air above the scene.
