The Swedish Electrical Safety Authority has banned sales and ordered Easee to recall chargers available from dealers. They must also improve already installed charging stations.

This will probably also affect sales in Norway and the EU. A ban in one EEA country basically results in a ban in the entire EEA.

In Norway, the National Communications Authority is responsible for market control of equipment with built-in radio communication equipment.

– We have just received the information from the Swedish Electrical Safety Authority, and we need some time to see what it means as a whole, says department director at Nkom John-Eivind Velure.

There is no immediate danger to life and health by using the products. The Swedish Electrical Safety Authority has ordered Easee to stop sales and to rectify the errors that have been pointed out.

– Nkom is concerned that the products sold in Norway are safe, and we will follow the case in Sweden closely. At the same time, we are considering what concrete measures are necessary to take in this case, says Velure.

At Easee, they are not ready to give up.

– We are concerned with close and good dialogue both with ESV and Nkom – there is no automaticity in a sales ban being implemented in other EEA countries. This case is being appealed, says Kenneth Bjerga, Nordic PR manager at Easee.
