The poster features the critically acclaimed film “Pot-au-feu”, but for the occasion the audience will also be offered the classic dish of the same name in the cinema’s foyer.

– The action in the film is set at an estate in the south of France at the end of the 19th century, where the estate owner and his female cook share a passion for cooking – and apparently also for each other. Everyone who buys a ticket gets a portion of food, and then it becomes possible for the guests to buy drinks themselves. We have been approved for both the liquor and food license and are looking forward to the French atmosphere and the smell of food in the cinema, says Kristin Fardal Hovland.

Pearls every Monday

She will be responsible for the cooking herself.

– I actually have a professional certificate as a chef from many years ago, so this is something I want to take personal pride in. Here, old cooking skills must be defended, smiles the cultural consultant.

The display is part of the municipality’s regular initiative, “Pearl Day”.

– Every Monday, critically acclaimed films are shown. Sometimes we make something a little extra out of it, and this film offered a good opportunity. The offer is quite exclusive. There are only 58 tickets available, explains Kristian Fardal Hovland.

– Has something springy in it

The Culture Office also has other “sensory” events this spring. Among other things, there will be a classical concert with piano, violin and soprano in the pavilion at the cultural school on 21 May.

On 6 June, writer Marius Nergård Pettersen and musician Stian Eriksen will visit the cultural center.

– They have created an atmospheric combination of live music, lectures and photos from secret cabins and hidden aspects of outdoor life. The duo appeals to many sensory impressions by offering both a concert, stories and visually beautiful pictures, points out Kristin Fardal Hovland, who believes that the three events mentioned all have something spring in them.

– The keywords are green landscapes from the French countryside, fresh vegetables, uplifting classical music and secret, beautiful Norwegian nature.
