After having great success around Norway, it was finally ready for the humor gala “Ladies Night” in Oslo.
And with some of the country’s funniest people on stage, it was no wonder that the hall in the Oslo Concert Hall was filled to capacity.
– We are completely devastated
One of those who stood on stage was Kristian Valen (49), who had traveled to the fatherland from his second homeland, Spain.
He enjoyed himself with his comedy colleagues Janne Formoe (48) and Anne-Kat. Hærland (52), who also took part in the show – and not least partner Karen Aanesen (39), who sat in the hall.
Rough time
As Se og Hør has previously told, it has been a tough time for Kristian and Karen, who were open about losing their unborn child in March. The comedy evening probably did extra good for the couple.
Rage against TV program
– How important is humor to preserve the relationship and love between you?
– Extremely important. Humor is perhaps the most important glue in all of life. That’s why everything I do with humor has a serious undertone – a human undertone that people can identify with, says Kristian Valen to Se og Hør between features.
Kristian, who has also criss-crossed Norway with his own show “Fartøy Valen cruise tour”, is quickly supported by his dear partner.
– He has such a warm and good sense of humour, says Karen to Se og Hør.
– And he loves watching TV and commenting on what he sees in broad terms. But he also likes to nod off, and then I can watch exactly what I want from reality programs in peace and quiet, she says with a laugh.
Another couple who enjoyed themselves this evening were Kathrine Sørland (43) and Andreas Holck (51).
Revealer: That’s why it became us
In 2006, they married and had a son, Leon, together, before deciding to separate in 2018. But after three years, love blossomed again, and not long ago Andreas proposed to Kathrine – for the second time.
Ready for a castle party
To Se og Hør, the couple has previously lifted the veil a little on how the second wedding will be, and that they have found a castle in Denmark with connections to Holck’s family.
Clear call: – Only one you need
– The first time Andreas proposed after three weeks, so then it was more my guests and his guests. But this time it will be a party. Now we have a joint little clan, Sørland said at the time.
In the Oslo Concert Hall, they enjoyed both the comedy show and each other.
– What does humor mean to you in relation to love? How important is it?
– It is very important to laugh a lot. And we laugh a lot more now than we did before. If we hadn’t had so much fun together, maybe our love wouldn’t have been as strong as it actually is, says the newly in love couple to Se og Hør almost in unison.
– Painful and scary
– I like to be a bit silly and childish, in a way I have never quite gotten over the childish humour, says Kathrine. She also reveals that her husband-to-be was initially a little skeptical about going to the show “Ladies Night” – for fear of being the only cock in the basket…
Checked up with humor
Also present were Venstre’s Abid Raja (48) and his psychologist wife Nadia Ansar (44), who have been married since 2001. Both have published books in recent years which have both attracted a lot of attention and received good reviews. Together they also run the podcast “Skyld og Skam”.
– What does humor mean in your marriage?
– It is very important for everyday life to function. And I don’t think I would have managed to check up on my wife without humor, says Abid with a smile.
– Yes, it is important to be able to laugh a little at each other’s weaknesses, and have a little self-irony, says Nadia.
Before the couple rushes into the hall, Abid also offers some marriage advice:
– Put aside trying to fool your partner at home. What you should do is use humor to disarm a conflict. Take your wife seriously if she gets angry, but feel free to use disarming humor and self-irony, says Abid – and takes a good hold of his loved one.
