As usual, the Royal Household states that the birthday is celebrated privately and has no comments beyond that. Princess Ingrid Alexandra is in her final year at Elvebakken upper secondary school in Oslo, and thus the Russian era is just around the corner.

In the autumn, it is uncertain what the princess plans to do. The family has made it clear that she is free to choose, but education and studies will probably await later.

– Since the task you have been given will last a lifetime, it is important that you take plenty of time for schooling and education. You still have to spend many years on this. And don’t forget to play! At least I have good experience with that, said King Harald in his speech to the princess when her 18th birthday was celebrated last year.

Both the grandfather, King Harald, and the father, Crown Prince Haakon, both joined the military when they finished high school.

The royal family shares new photos of the princess on the occasion of her birthday:

SAFE LANDING: The princess’s biggest wish when she turned 18 was to jump with a parachute. Last summer, she got to try herself from a height of 20,000 feet when she was with the Norwegian Armed Forces’ special command at Rena. Photo: The Royal Court / NTB

The princess has already made several visits to the Norwegian Armed Forces, where she has been given an introduction to what they do.

Regardless of what happens in the autumn, the princess may move out of Skaugum, where she has lived with her family since she was born. Then it can be quieter in the house.

– One of the things we appreciate about you, Ingrid, is the joy that lives in you, and all the life you fill our home with. With friends, laughter and loud music, Crown Princess Mette-Marit said in her speech to her daughter on her 18th birthday.

In the castle’s own biography for the princess, she is described as an active girl who likes sports and outdoor activities. She shares the joy of skiing and water sports with the rest of the family.

In October, she took part in the surfing national championship at Jæren. She made it to the semi-finals, but did not advance to the final.

In 2020, Princess Ingrid Alexandra became Norwegian champion in the junior class.
