Norway’s largest bank announced on Monday morning that they are making some major changes in their top management.

The head of the retail market is being replaced

Among other things, Ingjerd Blekeli Spiten is being replaced as head of the retail market.

DNB does not give a concrete reason for the change, but DNB’s CEO Kjerstin Braathen says that she sends a big thank you to the three who are now leaving.

Spiten is replaced by Maria Ervik Løvold, who has held a number of roles in the group.

– Maria has contributed significantly to reducing the technical complexity at DNB, while she already knows the retail market well from previous roles at DNB. I feel confident that she will contribute to creating new, good customer experiences for over two million DNB customers, says Braathen in a message.

It is pointed out that the technical integration of Sbanken has now been completed, and that the “next phase” is underway.

– I am looking forward to starting the next chapter for personal customers, and using DNB’s muscle to build momentum for Sbanken as a challenger in the banking market, says Løvold in a statement.

– It’s natural for me to move on

On LinkedIn, Spiten comments on the departure as follows:

“On Saturday I ran my last stage for DNB and what a stage it has been! Today I am resigning after more than six years as head of the Personal Market at DNB.

It has been an incredibly rewarding, intense, fun and developing job. It has been a great privilege to lead the fantastic team in DNB’s personal market. We have delivered all-time high results, got Sbanken on the team and are on target with one of Norway’s largest bank mergers in recent times. Despite what many would think based on the media image, there are both more customers and growth in lending for Sbanken now than when we announced the acquisition.

Now a new phase is starting in the bank, and then it was natural for me to move on. I would like to thank Kjerstin Braathen for very good cooperation and support on our journey in the Personal Market, and it is with pride that I pass the baton on to Maria Ervik Løvold, who is passionate about the customers and the bank.”

Several changes in top management

Other changes are that the corporate market in Norway is being raised as a separate business area, which means that Rasmus Aage Figenschou will become part of group management.

Even Westerveld will be given the job of leading a new unit called “People & Communication”. He has previously been both communications director and marketing manager at Vipps.

Eline Skramstad takes over as head of Group Risk Management.
