The media giant does not yet know the cause of the error, or what users can do to avoid the problem. It is also unclear how many users are affected, and whether the problem is limited to specific iPhone models, the BBC writes.

Tip: Double check the volume

Among the tips suggested to avoid the alarm not working is to double-check that your phone’s alarm settings are activated, and make sure the volume is turned up.

It is also suggested that so-called “attention functions”, which are found on iPhone X or newer phones, can be changed automatically by, among other things, lowering the volume of alarms.

In the meantime, you may need to dust off old-fashioned, manual alarm clocks to make sure you wake up on time.
