Beijing Auto Show: – Here is Hongqi’s most important car

--

(Elbil24): We are not going back more than a few days, when the Hongqi importer showed off a new model in Norway. The car had the model name EH7, and is on its way to Norway before too long.

Elbil24 is now at the car fair in Beijing and can tell about a relative we are looking forward to even more, and of which there is already a copy in Norway.

These owners are most satisfied with the lights

Because the 7 series consists of several different cars – both the sedan, but also a convertible, for those who want it. However, we know the Norwegian market so well that we know that SUVs are at the top of the wish list.

We can therefore report that it was launched at the Beijing Motor Show. You are welcome, Hongqi E-HS7, where we expect the letter S to define that it is an SUV, as this is missing from the sedan.

Still great

One of the things about the E-HS9, which has been sold in Norway for some time, is that it is large – for many it is for big.

It is therefore pleasing to say that the E-HS7 is smaller. It clocks in just under the five meter mark, with its 4,925 millimeters in length. At the same time, it is quite moderately high, with a total height of 1,650 millimeters.

The platform shares it with the sedan, and therefore has a wheelbase of exactly three metres. This leaves room for large batteries, where the largest of the three that become available has a capacity of 111 kWh, while the middle one is 85 kWh, and the smallest is 75 kWh. Incidentally, all the batteries are supplied by CATL and work with a working voltage of 800 volts, which may indicate fast charging.

More choices

The car can be had with either two- or four-wheel drive. The former will have an electric motor at the rear of 253 kW, while the four-wheel drive will also have a motor at the front of 202 kW. Altogether, this will therefore give a total effect – stated in horsepower – of respectively 344 horses on the two-wheel drive version, and 618 horsepower on the version with four-wheel drive.

We have not been told what performance this will give, other than that all models must have a top speed of 200 km/h.

It should also be said that this is information that belongs to the car that has been launched in China. However, we have no reason to believe that they repackage the car’s technical details to any extent before it is possibly sent to Europe.

The Hongqi E-HS7 will, by and large, compete with the Nio ES8 and its ilk when it may one day come to Norway. Unlike the Nio, you have no option to rent the battery pack, as on a Nio, but then not everyone wants this form of ownership either.

When the car might arrive is unknown, the same about how much it will cost, but we must add that it looks undeniably good, so at first glance.
