Think we’re at the bottom

At the same time, Arkitektbedriftene and Skjerdingstad see more light in the tunnel.

– Fortunately, the interest rate has stabilized and creates predictability, which in turn creates more optimism. Now we just wait for interest rates to go down and activity to pick up. The question is when it happens. It may take a while, but at some point we will be back in activity.

Many also report expectations of increased order backlog in the next six months.

– This expectation of the order reserve is the first signal that something can be positive and it indicates that we have reached the bottom.

Hoping for the next six months

In the presentation on Wednesday morning, several positive trends are also shown. On average, the majority of companies have unchanged turnover, while more than half have hopes of better turnover six months from now.

Although there are large variations, especially regionally and adjusted for the size of the office, the majority of members also report stable figures for man-years.

– Is the crisis not as serious as we think?

– We must remember that it is serious for everyone affected by the downturn. There are of course offices that are doing well, things are still being built in Norway and many are good at finding new opportunities. But we are still in what we would call a serious recession, the likes of which we have not seen for many years.

– But the angle in parts of the presentation seems surprisingly positive. Is the crisis over?

– Absolutely not, but everything indicates that we have reached the bottom and that things are going up. We are just excited about the speed of the rise. We must prevent ourselves from being down for too long.
