– I have decided to give Adam Kadyrov the republic’s highest award, said Rashid Temrezov, leader of the southern Russian republic of Karachayevo-Cherkessia.
In the statement, Temrezov did not mention Adam Kadyrov’s use of violence. In the statement, Temrezov refers to the 15-year-old’s “personal contribution to the development of ethnic and regional unity and the strengthening of traditional Islamic values”.

Struck prisoner
The 15-year-old has already received a medal from the leader of the Tatarstan region and a medal for heroic efforts for Chechnya from his father.
It was last September that Adam Kadyrov beat a prisoner in a prison. The inmate was a 19-year-old Russian who was accused in May of burning the Koran in front of a mosque in Volgograd. The 19-year-old was later transferred to the Russian republic of Chechnya, where the majority of the population is Muslim.
The violence was filmed and Ramzan Kadyrov said at the time that he was proud of his son. The police dropped the case and indicated that the 15-year-old is not of legal age. According to Russian criminal law, parents are responsible for their children’s actions.
