A week ago, a search was launched for billionaire child Mint Butterfield (16). It was the mother and founder of the photo app Flickr, Caterina Fake (54), who raised the alarm last Monday after the 16-year-old disappeared from her home in the San Francisco suburb of Bolinas on April 21.

Butterfield is the only child of Silicon Valley founders Caterina Fake and Slack co-founder Stewart Butterfield (51). They parted ways in 2007, the same year that Mint was born.
On Saturday evening, shortly before midnight, the 16-year-old was found alive in a white van in San Francisco’s Tenderloin district. It came out in a press release from the Marin County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday, according to The San Francisco Standard and People, among others.
Butterfield was unharmed, and was found with a 26-year-old man. The man, who has been identified as Christopher “Kio” Dizefalo, is now in custody and charged with kidnapping.
The 26-year-old will be “an adult friend” of Butterfield.
Revealed her husband’s lie: Was killed
Butterfield and Dizefalo were found in the notorious Tenderloin neighborhood, which is known to be a hangout for drug addicts. Butterfield has told police she left her home voluntarily.
Butterfield’s mum and dad, as well as stepfather Jyri Engeström, have spoken out following the news that Mint was found safe and sound.
“A big thank you to all the family, friends, volunteers and strangers who called in with tips and made this rescue operation possible,” is one of the things in the statement from the family.
