Is Hamas terrorists but not the IDF?

Newly elected leader of Rød Ungdom Amrit Kaur has received a lot of criticism from the right for refusing to call Hamas a terrorist organization. I think this is hypocritical all the time the right refuses to call Israel’s genocide against the Palestinians terrorism.

Yes, Hamas’ killing of 1,500 Israeli civilians on October 7 was reprehensible
acts of terrorism. So is Israel’s murder of 30,000 Palestinians. If the last 75 years of Israeli occupation, displacement of and killing of Palestinians cannot be called terror, the term loses its meaning.

Neither the UN nor Norway has labeled Hamas a terrorist organization. Therefore, it is not Red Youth’s role to decide whether Hamas should be classified as terrorists or not. If youth parties are first to start defining who are terrorists in the Israel-Palestine “conflict”, the Israeli army’s (IDF) terror is at least as relevant to discuss as Hamas’ – if not more so.
