– I am incredibly proud of what the whole team has delivered this weekend. We came to the Bahamas to make the top 12 and qualify for the Olympics, and leave here as number five in the world, she says to VG.

– There is still a long time to go until the “highlights” of the season with both the EC and the Olympics, and plenty of time to sharpen the form even more! It bodes very well for the Norwegian team. I’m really proud of the whole team.

The final was won superbly by the American team, which consisted of Quanera Hayes, Gabrielle Thomas, Bailey Lear and Alexis Holmes.

Elisabeth Slettum was run instead of Lakeri Ertzgaard on the night of Monday. The day before, the team qualified for the Paris Olympics after finishing second in their heat in the Bahamas.

It will be the third time Norway has a relay team in athletics at an Olympics, but the first time on the women’s side. At the same time, Norway has had a relay team in the WC twice, both times in the 4×400 meters for women, in 1991 and in 2022.
