Five aid workers killed in Gaza

Palestinian media and Al Jazeera report that five aid workers, including four foreigners, have been killed in an Israeli attack on Deir el-Balah in central Gaza.

Palestinian media and Al Jazeera report that five aid workers, including four foreigners, have been killed in an Israeli attack on Deir el-Balah in central Gaza.

According to the Qatari media company, the foreigners, who will come from Poland, Australia, Ireland and Great Britain, worked for the organization World Central Kitchen, WCK.

According to the news agency, an Al Jazeera journalist has confirmed to have seen five bodies from the organization.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says according to the Australian ABC that the country is investigating the messages.

– I am very concerned about the loss of life in Gaza.

The organization writes on X that they have been informed that members of WCK have been killed when they were delivering food in Gaza.

– This is a tragedy. Aid workers and civilians must NEVER be a target. NEVER, writes the organization.

The Israeli Defense Force, the IDF, writes in a press release that they will investigate this tragic incident.

– The IDF takes thorough steps to ensure safe deliveries of humanitarian aid, and has worked closely with World Central Kitchen in their important work of getting food and humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.
