According to Reuters, the Philippines has been outraged over the past year by what it calls repeated aggressive behavior by China’s coast guard and allied fishing vessels around disputed areas that lie within Manila’s 200-mile economic zone.
The latest escalation occurred last week, when China used water cannons to disrupt another Philippine supply shipment to Second Thomas Shoal for soldiers stationed to guard a warship that was deliberately grounded on a reef 25 years ago.
