A hard-pressed Liverpool had to win to keep alive the slim hope of the Premier League title. A draw is simply not good enough.
The Reds only have two wins in the last eight games and are three points behind league leader Arsenal – while Manchester City are two points ahead of Liverpool with one game less played.
