HBO confirms in a press release on Monday that parts of season 4 of the TV series “Succession” will be filmed in Norway this autumn.
Updated just now
VG wrote in July that the HBO series had applied to the Norwegian Film Institute (NFI) for some money from the state incentive scheme for films to shoot parts of the fourth season in Norway.
Filming of the fourth season began in New York in July. HBO does not inform where the recording will take place here, but that “scenes for the fourth season” will be recorded in Norway “during the autumn”.
Bergens Tidende has previously reported that one of the episodes will be filmed in Sunnmøre, including at Juvet landscape hotel.
Earlier this summer, VG was given access to the application, which showed that the production company Spot Of Tea Productions – via the Norwegian company Truenorth – applied for NOK 13 million. This corresponds to a quarter of a total estimated production cost in this country of 52 million.
The total budget for season four is between NOK 1.7 and 1.8 billion.
The series has won nine Emmy awards, and is nominated for 25 at the awards which take place on 13 September this year.
