News, Crimea | The injured mechanic is in a stable condition after the accident

--

A mechanic was seriously injured in an explosive accident at Tide’s bus facility at Mannsverk on Tuesday morning.

He was hit and injured by an electric arc that came from the high-voltage plant’s control systems while working on a bus, the employer says.

The injured person is a 31-year-old Chinese service engineer from a bus factory in Yutong in China.

He was in Norway to conduct training and support for the company YES-EU AS at the bus facility at Mannsverk.

Yes-EU technical manager Gøran Rykkje writes in a press release that the 31-year-old has been burned, but that his condition is stable.

The man is being treated at the fire department in Haukeland. Colleagues from the Chinese factory have arrived in Bergen.

Efforts are also being made to get one or more family members transported to Bergen from China, says Rykkje.

The police are investigating the accident. YES-EU will not say anything about the cause of the incident until the police have concluded.

– At present, YES-EU has no further comments, he writes in the press release.
