This is revealed in a press release.

– The test results show that the dead were not under the influence of sedative drugs, says police attorney Ann Iren Svane Mathiassen in the South-East police district.

The police also write that, as previously stated, findings at the scene indicate that the dead were asleep when they were killed.

– The police know that one of those killed slept with earplugs. This could be one of the explanations why the person in question did not wake up from gunshots. One of those killed slept on one floor and the other two slept on the floor below.

It was on the evening of Saturday 23 March that four people were found dead in a detached house at Torpo in Ål in Hallingdal. The four were a whole family: Ingunn Slaatten (53), Sander Slaatten (22) and Signe Slaatten (18) were shot and killed. In the house, the police also found the father of the family, Arne Slaatten (59), who the police believe killed his family before then taking his own life.

Because he took his own life after the murders, no charges will be brought against him.

Last week, the police said that the investigation into the murder case will soon be completed, and that it can therefore soon provide the remaining answers. Mathiassen said the police are starting to get an idea of what happened before the murders.
