NEW YORK, May 7 (Bernama-Xinhua) — The US dollar increased in late trading on Monday, reported Xinhua.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.02 per cent to 105.048 at 3.00 pm (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro climbed to US$1.0775 from US$1.0767 in the previous session, and the British pound rose to US$1.2568 from US$1.2551 in the previous session.

The US dollar bought 153.91 Japanese yen, higher than 152.94 Japanese yen of the previous session.

The US dollar increased to 0.9060 Swiss francs from 0.9050 Swiss francs, and it declined to 1.3660 Canadian dollars from 1.3682 Canadian dollars. The US dollar dropped to 10.8071 Swedish Kronor from 10.8074 Swedish Kronor.
