Larsen was on a ski trip with a hiking buddy when he fell and died.

iTromsø has been in contact with Larsen’s family, who confirm the death to the newspaper.
Larsen leaves behind two sons, a stepson, girlfriend and parents.
The survivors have not wished to give any more statements than what has been given to Nordlys in this article.
– We have chosen to do it so that it will be what we are going to say, says Larsen’s son Lukas.

According to the main rescue center in Bodø, there were very unfortunate circumstances behind the death.
– The place he fell on was not a steep area, no extreme terrain at all. So there is no question of reckless driving or anything like that. This was a pure accident, Olav Bjørgaas, head of rescue in the main rescue center (HRS) in Bodø, tells iTromsø.
HRS received an alarm about the accident from the emergency medical communications center (AMK) at 14.23 on Monday, and moved out from Tromsø with a rescue helicopter. The accident was not communicated to the public.
