IN Last summer, several people noticed that the price of plastic bags in many shops had increased in price. Handelens Miljøfond increased the quota on the plastic bag so that the bag ended up costing NOK 4.25.
After that, plastic bag sales fell sharply. This is reported by NRK.
The new passport rule you must know
– We saw that plastic bag sales went up by 40 per cent compared to the autumn of the previous year. At the same time, sales of waste bags and shopping nets increased, but after Christmas we see that the statistics have leveled offsays general manager of Handelens Miljøfond, Cecilie Lind.
They still believe that the statistics are not going in the right direction. Therefore, they have now decided to increase the quota by 1 kroner from 1 May. Thus, the plastic bag can cost almost NOK 6.
– Plastic bag consumption must decrease so that we are able to reach the target we have set ourselves. That’s why we have to set up the quota, says Lind.
