NEW YORK (Dagbladet): In 2012, the Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney received harsh criticism because at one point he had tied his dog Seamus to the roof of the car during a long car trip with the family.
There will be trifles against the reactions the governor of South Dakota, Kristi Noem, is now reaping.

She is a very current candidate to become Donald Trump’s vice-presidential candidate. However, in a new book, “Noe Going Back: The Truth on What’s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward”, she admits that she shot and killed her own dog, The Guardian reports.
The Supreme Court of the United States will start hearing on Thursday the case about whether former President Donald Trump has immunity from criminal prosecution for influencing the election.

“Aggressive personality”
She explains that the dog, Cricket, was a 14-month-old bird dog with an “aggressive personality”. The plan was to train it for pheasant hunting. It didn’t work out that way. Instead, it ended with Noem shooting and killing the dog. Cricket isn’t the only farm animal she’s killed, either.
The Guardian has managed to obtain a copy of the book before it actually comes out. Like many aspiring politicians, she publishes a book during the election campaign.
Noem herself claims that she included the story about the dog to illustrate that she is willing to do anything that is “difficult, messy and ugly” if necessary.
The governess claims she did everything she could to try to tame Cricket. Among other things, she took the dog hunting with older dogs in the hope that it would calm the dog down.

– Cricket destroyed the guard by going completely wild with excitement and chasing all the birds and the experience of a lifetime, writes Noem.
She also allegedly tried to use an electric shock collar without this helping. On the way home from the hunting trip, Noem stopped at a family’s house. Cricket then allegedly managed to get out of the car and attacked the family’s chickens.
– She bit one chicken at a time and crushed it to death with one bite. Then she released it and attacked the next one, writes Noem.
When the governor finally got hold of Cricket, the dog allegedly tried to bite her.
The owner of the chickens is said to have started to cry.
Noem, on the other hand, must have apologized repeatedly and paid for the coolings.
– I then helped to get rid of the carcasses at the scene of the murder, writes the governor.

She says that the dog was very happy and excited all the time.
– I hated that dog. At that moment I realized I had to euthanize her, writes Noem.
She further writes that it was impossible to train the dog, and that it was dangerous for anyone. So she took the dog to a gravel roof and shot it.
– It was not a pleasant job, but it had to be done. And after that was done, I realized that I still had an incredible job to do, writes Noem.
The family also had a goat, which Noem did not get along with. She describes the goat as “nasty and mean” because it was not castrated. She also claims that it smelled horrible and loved to chase Noem’s children.
Thus, the arch-conservative Republican decided to kill the goat in the same way as the dog. When she fired the shot, the goat must have jumped so that it survived the first round. Noem had to run back to the car and get more ammunition.
