Every month the pole reduces the price of a number of goods, the first every month, while three times a year they also have the opportunity to raise the prices.

There can be many reasons for the cuts. Some products have not sold as well as expected, they may be approaching the best before date, or they have to be sold out because they are going out of the range, or changing suppliers.

Vinpuls.no now reports that it will be the biggest April sale ever at Vinmonopolet.

– The Norwegian wine and spirits importers continue to clean out their warehouses and sell off products they no longer have to stock. This gives us the biggest ever April sale at Vinmonopolet, where a total of 98 different Pole goods are reduced in price from 1 April.

– Can be small volumes of several of the wines

According to the website, the price of 88 wines, 38 red wines and 27 white wines will be reduced. In addition, the price of seven spirits, two ciders and one beer drops.

– Some of them are real bargains after the price reductions, writes Vinpuls.

La Maison Romane Chambolle-Musigny drops in price from NOK 999.90 to NOK 699.90 and is the red wine with the biggest price drop, while the price of the white wine Hugel Classic Riesling drops by NOK 225.

New evaluation

When it comes to sparkling wine, Philippe Gonet Collection TER Blanc, among other things, drops from NOK 699.90 to NOK 449.90, which gives a price reduction of NOK 250

– Know that there can be very small volumes of several of the wines, so that it can easily become a sold-out situation, writes the website.

Decline: – Surprising

In March, DinSide wrote that Vinmonopolet’s sales in January and February fell by 1.5 per cent compared to last year. But due to one extra day of sales, the decrease was close to five percent.

There was little doubt that red wine is the largest category, with a whopping 48 percent of sales. Nevertheless, red wine had a decrease of four percent and over 240,000 liters so far this year.

Shoots in the air

– This is perhaps somewhat surprising, as red wine is a category that normally increases its popularity when it is cold and sour. The largest decrease is for Italian and French red wine (litres), stated Vinmonopolet.
