Offense Stalls as Softball Drops Two to Drew

Center Valley, PA (April 30, 3024) – The DeSales University softball scored just two runs dropping both ends of a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon to Drew University at McGettigan Park.

Game One (L/2-4)
DSU fell behind 2-0 after two unearned runs in the top of the first inning.

The Bulldogs got within a run twice but were unable to get any closer leaving 11 men on base over seven innings.

Junior Rachel Lowry took the loss allowing two earned over seven innings, striking out six. Sophomore Morgan Benner had two hits and sophomore Ava Goodman scored twice.

Game Two (L/0-1)
DeSales couldn’t get anything going offensively in this one. The Bulldogs best chance came in the sixth inning putting runners at second and third with one out but were unable to get the tying run home to drop game two.

Senior Alanna Hartzell took the loss despite pitching well allowing just one unearned run and four hits over seven innings, striking out seven.

The Bulldogs return to action on Thursday when they take on Misericordia University in the first game of the MAC Freedom postseason tournament at 1:00 pm at Lebanon Valley College.

All ticket sales for the event will be CASH ONLY with prices set at $8 (adults); $6 (students ages 7-17 and Seniors over 65); Students under 7 and MAC students w/ID will be admitted for free.
