For months there has been talk of launches of the iPad OLED and iPad Air 12.9″ in late March or early April.

I think the new iPad will arrive in early May

Many of the reports have come from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who has now heard something else from the manufacturing partners in Asia who have increased production volumes: the new boards won’t arrive until May. The reason for the postponement is said to be the new iPadOS, which has taken longer than usual to get in place for the new OLED boards, which will probably have an always-on function – whether this is the reason, there will be speculation. The panels, which are supposed to be the big selling point, are also demanding to produce, which has also led to delays.

Gurman then goes through parts of the history of the iPad, which was introduced by Steve Jobs in 2010, the year before he died of cancer. Gurman also points to the fact that it has been 18 months since Apple launched, among other things, the iPad Pro M2 and iPad 10, and that Apple’s sales of the tablets fell by 25 percent.

There are no new revelations about the iPad Pro models beyond that they will be given the model names J717, J718, J720 and J721. The iPad Air gets an M2 chip, which is also not surprising. Magic Keyboard and Pencil also come in new editions in May.
