Karsten Warholm on children: – An extremely distant thought

--

In a short time, Karsten Warholm (28) is scheduled to make his season debut outdoors during the Bislett Games, which take place on 30 May.

After that, the European Championships in Rome and the Olympics in Paris await, among other things.

– Not as fat

In a new interview with Dagbladet, Warholm opens up about, among other things, the injury he suffered in 2022 and what he thinks about children.

Teammate Amalie Iuel (30) had her son Storm last September, and recently made a comeback after a year and a half away from competition.

This has made Warholm think about his own life when it comes to children.

– For me it is still an extremely distant thought, I must admit. Kudos to her for balancing it, it’s not easy. I think everyone who has had children probably knows that. She has experienced that too, but she has obviously managed that balance well, says Warholm to the newspaper.

Charged the batteries

The 28-year-old does not hide the fact that it is nice to have a new mascot in the team, and that it is very nice to have him (Storm, journ.anm.) in. Warholm points out that he sees that it is a human being who has needs, and that it requires both time and love.

When asked if it has given him a bit of a scare, Warholm replies:

– In the bubble that I’m living in right now, I must admit that I see that it would be best to wait a little for my part. I do. It doesn’t make the task any easier, I think Amalie can also agree with that.

Warholm lives with his girlfriend Oda Djupvik (26). The duo moved in together in 2022, and in an earlier interview with Nettavisen, Warholm shared details about what it was like to live together.

– It has been quite a good transition, and easier to deal with than I had thought. We are routine people and top sport is a way of life, so it will be a quiet life, he said last summer.

The duo moved together into a detached house right next to Vigelandsparken in Oslo. Warholm shelled out NOK 27 million for the 187 square meter function villa. The detached house is over two levels, with three bedrooms, garden and parking space.

The villa was originally for sale at NOK 28.5 million, but Warholm got the home for one and a half million below the asking price.

– I think it is a good purchase and that the object suits the buyer well. The sale could not have gone to a nicer guy, said estate agent Jon Kvisgaard in Privatmegleren to Børsen at the time.
