Brann squandered their chances against Stabæk, as they have also done earlier this year. We counted 11-0 in real scoring chances, but it only ended 1-0 to Brann, after Anna Aahjem’s goal after exactly one hour of play.

Coach Martin Ho just laughs when BA hangs up after the match at Nadderud.

– We could have won this match by five, six, seven, eight, nine. It’s absolutely wild! But we are not calm enough in the decisive situations, he says.

– So you have a tip problem?

– No no! We create a lot of chances, and we manage to win. Then we don’t have a problem, and not an extreme problem. If we didn’t create anything, we would have problems, but we create a lot.

Who will he choose?

Ho has previously said that the striker competition gives him challenges and a lot of thinking. Against Stabæk, Johanna Renmark started on top, but scored none. Last week she scored two. Now it was substitute Aahjem who saved the team.

– It’s just nice that I can’t sleep over who I’m going to pick at the top. It is much better to have something to choose from than not, he points out.

– It is clear that we must become much more efficient, but we saw this last year as well. We won the games by one goal for a long time, before we started to add more. This will come, I’m sure of it, says Ho to BA.

Two equal goals from Aahjem

Anna Aahjem started as a substitute against Stabæk. When she was substituted in the second half, she used her offensive instincts to smell where the ball was going to land in front of the goal. After a perfect post from ex-Capitana Cecilie Redisch Kvamme, Aahjem was waiting at the other end. She clinched the ball into the goal, sending Brann up the table.

The goal was undeniably similar to the first she set this year, against her old club Lyn in the 2-1 victory in the second round of the series.

Fire therefore dominated the match in Bærum on Saturday. But there was little of all the ball possession. Both Signe Gaupset, Ingrid Stenevik and Amalie Eikeland tried and missed, but it worked in the end, thanks to Aahjem’s goal.

Åsane crushed by teams in crisis

For Åsane, it was tough from the start. It didn’t take more than three minutes before Lillestrøm’s Tonje Erikstein put number one.

The yellows, who are currently in financial crisis, managed to perform at their peak despite the internal problems. Miljana Ivanovic, who until last autumn played for Arna-Bjørnar, is known for being dangerous in front of goal. Both just before and just after the break, she scored.

A consolation goal came just before the end, when Katarina Dybvik Sunde scored to make it 3-1.

Åsane has had a nightmare start to the season, and stands with two points after five games played. Only Arna-Bjørnar is below them.

Crisis for Arna-Bjørnar

Arna-Bjørnar therefore had nothing more to cheer for than Åsane. The table jumbo met newly promoted Kolbotn away from home. The Easterners took their first win of the season, after five attempts.

The Bergens stayed in the game for quite some time, after Kolbotn’s early scoring. Three minutes later, Tora Ose equalized at 1-1 after a keeper’s mistake at a corner, but of the two teams it was the home team who struck first again. They went to the break at 3-1, and the 2nd half was lead heavy for the Reds.

In the end it ended 4-1 to Kolbotn, which is quite a crisis for the Arna team. Because it is precisely these two very young teams that many expect to fight to avoid the direct relegation place.
