ODD – FIRE 2-0:

Brann came down hard again after the party night at Brann Stadion last weekend, when there was a 0-2 loss away to Odd on Sunday.

Filip Ingebrigtsen and Mikael Ingebrigtsen scored the goals for the skiing team, which thus stands with four points after two league rounds.

Finn is praised

Almost halfway through the first half, a special situation arose at Skagerak Arena, when Bård Finne sped down the right side.

Suddenly it hit the back of the thigh of Odd defender Sondre Solholm Johansen, and Finne had a useful opportunity to run all the way through alone with goalkeeper Leopold Wahlstedt.

Then the Brann attacker chose to stop and play the ball out over the touchline, instead of going for a goal.

– It looks like he’s getting a real one. It was a good thing he went out, or I would have become suspicious, says Finne to TV 2 about the incident.

Jesper Mathisen in TV 2’s Fotball Xtra pays tribute to the Brann player’s fair play.

– Solholm Johansen has no chance there and cannot move a metre. Bård Finne, very sporty, very nicely done, Mathisen boasts.

Gets praise from Solbakken

National team manager Ståle Solbakken, who watched the match from the stands, also liked what Finne did.

– I applaud that gesture. Now there was someone who came on the inside, so it is not certain that it was completely driven, but it was nice “sportsmanship”, says Solbakken to TV 2.

The situation sent thoughts back to the time former Odd striker Peter Kovacs rolled the ball into an open goal against Brann, after goalkeeper Håkon Opdal had stepped over.

The situation caused great anger in the Brann camp and subsequent fair play debate.

Paco ball

Just before the break, the home team took the lead after Mikael Ingebrigtsen had been played free on the right. He passed the ball to Ole Erik Midtskogen, who headed towards goal. The ball danced on the finish line, before Filip Jørgensen pushed it in.

Midway through the second half, the home team held out with another beautiful attack, which ended with Mikael Ingebrigtsen knocking in 2-0.
