The Norwegian, described as the “eunuch maker”, was today sentenced to life in prison in the court in London for over 20 cases of male castration.

The court added that parole after 22 years is being considered.

On average, lifers in the UK serve 15-20 years in prison, but this varies greatly from case to case and how serious the crime is.

The judge described his actions as “nothing less than human slaughter”, and that the Norwegian was driven by sexual satisfaction and financial motives.

He was sentenced together with several others who have participated with him, but the Norwegian is singled out as the leader of a group that has carried out castration.

The police believe this knife was used when the Norwegian paid another to have his penis removed.

The judge mentioned that the Norwegian has not expressed remorse, but said that the Norwegian instead believes he has helped people.

In court, the judge told that the police investigators have had to look through more than 400 hours of video material, and that the content of the material was the most extreme they had ever seen.

The scope was more than four times that of a normal homicide investigation.

The judge sentenced the other six accomplices to between 4 and a half and 12 years.

The judge believed that he took advantage of the victims’ age in some cases and that many of them were in a vulnerable life situation.

A week ago, the court in London heard details of actions the Norwegian in his 40s took over a four-year period, before he was arrested in 2021.

There were specific descriptions of how he removed the penis and testicles from other men.

He has already been sentenced for these matters, and today the sentence came: Life in prison with a minimum term of 22 years.

Earned 4 million

The Drammenser created a website called “The Eunuch Maker”, where according to the police there have been over 22,000 registered users. «Eunuchthe maker” is said to have earned NOK 4 million from this over the course of four years.

Some of this is from men who paid to be castrated.

Most of it must have come from subscribers who wanted to watch – and discuss.

In court we heard that dice were sometimes thrown to decide which body parts should be cut off. Other times there was a discussion about how dishes can be prepared.

It was so violent that Judge Mark Lucraft said several times that people could leave the venerable room at the Old Bailey if it got too violent.

The Norwegian himself was not present. As well as having paid people to castrate himself, he has also had a leg amputated, and the old courthouse is not particularly wheelchair friendly. He has been watching via video transmission.

Claims he helped people

Although he has already been convicted, there was a thorough review of the case in the Central Criminal Court. Prosecutor Caroline Carberry last week reviewed the facts, which are not disputed by the Norwegian or his defender Rashvinderjeet Panesar.

The following day, the defender tried to explain more about the background. It started with a divorce in 2016, which the convict took very seriously.

– The divorce gave him an experience of loss. It was at that time that he began to modify himself. It gave him a sense of strength. Self-esteem increased, Panesar said in court.

He went on to say that everyone who has undergone surgery by the Norwegian has wanted it themselves – and he claimed they were happier afterwards.

When he went into such things he was interrupted by the referee.

– What they joined in was a crime. The law is very clear in this country. Several of those who had surgery needed urgent help from the public health system afterwards. Gender reassignment surgery is complicated, and is carried out after extensive psychological assessment, said the judge.

The Norwegian has claimed in a newspaper interview to have castrated 58 men.
