A 36-year-old man has been arrested, charged with killing the boy and injuring four others in the north-east of the city, the police say.
The incident must not be linked to terrorism.
The London Ambulance Service signed on https://twitter.com/Ldn_Ambulance/status/1785233562829987894 that five were taken to hospital. The London police state that one of them died shortly afterwards.
Two of the injured are police officers. Both the police officers and the two civilians are seriously injured, but it should not be life-threatening, according to the police.
Police were alerted early in the morning, before 7am local time, that a vehicle had driven into a building in the Thurlow Gardens area. There were also reports of people being stabbed with a stabbing weapon.
King Charles describes the event as horrible. He praised the emergency services for being brave, according to the British court. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak states that the incident is shocking. He also pays tribute to the police and the ambulance service.

According to The Telegraph newspaper, it was apparently a samurai sword that was used in the attack. The police state that the 36-year-old was arrested using an electric shock weapon.
According to the BBC, the accused is injured, and on Tuesday afternoon the police have not questioned him.
– This must have been a frightening incident for those affected, says Ade Adelekan of the London police.
As a result of the incident, the Hainault subway station has been closed by the police, writes Sky News. The station in question is located north-east of London in the neighborhood of Ilford.
