– We have delivered a quarter with growth and good results. The most important key figures developed in the direction we had predicted and, with good order intake and an increased order reserve, we have laid the foundation for continued positive development in the years ahead, says CEO and CEO Geir Håøy in a press release.
The quarterly report, which was presented on Tuesday, shows revenues of NOK 11.45 billion – up from NOK 9.09 billion in the first quarter of last year. This corresponds to an increase of 26 per cent from the first quarter of 2023.
Operating profit rose to NOK 1.46 billion from NOK 1.02 billion, while profit before tax landed at NOK 1.43 billion – up from NOK 988 million in the first quarter of last year.
The result is better than what the experts had predicted in advance, write Finansavisen and E24.
The growth was greatest in Kongsberg Maritime and Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace, which increased operating income by NOK 778 million and NOK 1,394 million respectively, according to a press release.

Kongsberg Maritime’s 6,700 employees delivered a strong first quarter in 2024. The company has approx. 1,100 employees in Sunnmøre, making it one of the largest private employers in Møre and Romsdal.

The operating income in the first quarter of 2024 was MNOK 5,402, an increase of 17 per cent compared to the same quarter last year.

Order intake in the quarter was MNOK 6,157, corresponding to a book/bill ratio of 1.14. Order intake in Q1 2023 was MNOK 6,999.
– All the divisions in Kongsberg Maritime increased operating income, and there was high activity in deliveries to both existing fleets and new ships. The growth in the newbuilding market was partly due to deliveries to LNG ships, a ship class that has contributed to a strong order intake in recent years. In the aftermarket, there has continued to be high activity related to both service and upgrades, especially of offshore vessels, Anette Bonnevie Wollebæk tells Sunnmørsposten.
