– He is leading quite clearly towards number two, Roger Gjelsvik shouted from the stage as he approached the finish line.

Morken Augustson from Varegg was the first to finish during the Bergen City Marathon’s longest distance, the marathon itself.

– My legs won’t work for the rest of the day, the winner told BA when he entered the finish line.

With a time of 2.27.36, he secured his fourth straight victory. He entered the finish almost five minutes ahead of second place.

Jarand Blom crossed the finish line in second place with a time of 2.32.27.

– I really thought I was going to be able to take him this year. But he is still too good for me, says Blom

The first woman to finish was Renate Galleberg. She ran 2.52.40.

Soon after, the participants of the half-marathon started to reach the finish line. First in was Marius Garmann Sørli. He won with a time of 1.09.36.

– I don’t really run a half marathon. Only five and ten kilometres, he told BA before rushing on in confirmation.

Won on first try

Ina Rilvaag ran the fastest of all the women in the half marathon. The student from Sandefjord has never run a half marathon before.

The plan was to run 2 kilometers on a relay team. But when it was full of relays, Rilvaag decided to run a half marathon instead.

– Is this the start of a half-marathon career?

– We’ll see. Right now I’m most looking forward to the party, she says.
