Queen Maxima’s choice of clothing causes a stir:

Queen Maxima (52) of the Netherlands has often been praised for her fashion sense, and is known for taking chances when it comes to clothing. Among other things, she is often seen in strong colours, eye-catching patterns and unique accessories.

However, it is not always the queen who hits the mark in everyone’s eyes.

“Offensive”

During a royal mission in The Hague, the Queen appeared in a gray outfit with two large glittering spider brooches attached to her suit jacket.

“Queen Maxima gave many people a bit of a shock,” says the Danish Billed Bladet.

According to Hello! Magazine are the spiders signed by the Argentinian designer Celedonio.

On Instagram, opinions are divided about Maxima’s “Petter edderkopp and his friend”.

“Terrible spiders,” reads a comment field on one of the queen’s fan profiles.

“These spiders just don’t work,” says another.

Others refer to the queen’s decorations as downright terrifying.

“Your Majesty, I find it offensive that you have spiders on your clothes. My spider phobia has been triggered by this picture. You who do so much for others, please don’t do this anymore,” writes a stern follower.

Others praise the 52-year-old for being brave and playful in style.

“Always stylish!”, “Fantastic!” and “I love it!” goes again under the picture of the outfit.

In third place

It would seem that Queen Maxima is not intimidated by insects, and the fashion queen has previously worn brooches in the form of butterflies and beetles.

The queen is praised for this, and in 2015 she came third in Hello! Magazine’s fashion selection of the best dressed princesses and queens.
