The British sports anchor Richard Keys sends a new verbal broadside against Erik ten Hag after Manchester United’s weak 1-1 result at home against Burnley.

Claims ten Hag made in conversation with the BBC after the match make TV profile Keys see red again.

The manager then defended himself by saying that his team created many chances, and referred to United as one of the league’s most “driving and entertaining teams” at the moment.

In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Keys first repeats ten Hag’s statement, before firing off:

“United 1 Burnley 1. What kind of planet does he live on? What match is he watching? At least it won’t be long before there will be an end to all this chaos”, writes Keys, with a clear allusion to the fact that many United’s managers are done with their jobs after the season.

More tirades

The TV presenter now works for Qatari-owned BeIN Sports. The 67-year-old is from Coventry and has supported the current Championship side from his hometown since early childhood.

He has made it a habit to criticize the United manager in harsh terms in recent months, and was not slow to point out the Dutchman’s shortcomings this time either.

Earlier this year, Keys has, among other things, come out with accusations that ten Hag has delusions, and already two months ago he “determined” that the Manchester United manager will be fired, in addition to giving him a less flattering nickname.

The Dutchman may not have been completely lucky with some of his statements during United’s problem-filled weeks recently.

Sky Sports reporter Melissa Reddy says on Sunday she has heard from a source that Erik ten Hag is about to “talk himself out of his job” at United.

Late point loss

The lead goal of the reviled Antony against Burnley did not last long, although the second most expensive United player of all time scored late in the match. The away team nevertheless equalized a few minutes before the end of the game, which set many people’s minds on fire.

United, for once, looked set to manage two straight three points in the league when Sander Berge gave them a little gift with just a few minutes left to play.

But again more points were spilled as a result of a Burnley penalty with two minutes left of regular time.
