LAST: Thursday night, Rockefeller / Sentrum Scene announces that the Oslo concert with Jeff Beck and Johnny Depp has been moved due to corona infection in the band.
The news that actor and musician Johnny Depp (59) was to take the trip to Norway received enormous attention. Friday night is the first concert of the stack at Sentrum Scene in Oslo.
The superstar will make a guest appearance on guitar legend Jeff Beck’s tour, and will be part of his concerts in Oslo, Kristiansund and Bergen.
Depp arrived in Oslo on Tuesday afternoon, according to VG.
Appeared on stage
When artists are to perform, the vast majority have a list of requirements for how the backstage area should be. This is called a rider, and can at times contain the most bizarre desires.
Justin Bieber, for example, wanted a pig tequila and gave strict instructions not to be served candy, Iggy Pop asked for seven dwarfs, Beyoncé wanted red toilet paper, and Van Halen wanted a tube of lubricant available in his time.
Was excited about wishes
According to the festival director for the Tahiti Festival, however, there are no big surprises in Beck and Depp’s list of demands.
Fear of new trial
– Before I got it, I must honestly admit that I wondered what would appear, but it was surprisingly ordinary wishes. There was no exclusive coconut room from Hawaii among the requirements, as we have seen in the past. The requirements were very down to earth and nice. It was like all other riders, really, says Ingebrigtsen.
The festival director states that the rider is confidential, but still gives a few hints about the duo’s food wishes.
– They want local food, and in addition Beck is a vegetarian. We are used to dealing with that, because he is not the first to have such a wish, says Ingebrigtsen.
When Dagbladet asks who gets the credit for preparing the food, Ingebrigtsen holds the cards close to his chest.
– It is confidential, he says.
Mixed ball and clipfish
Dagbladet has spoken to several local suppliers of food in Kristiansund, but none of them have so far received any raids with food requests from the music duo.
Bjørge Løvik, who runs the butcher shop Angus Gaupvik in Kristiansund, has some thoughts about what they should be served if they are to have local goods.
– Mixed ball and clipfish – it is arch-Kristiansund, it comes in cash.
Clipfish is salted and dried fish, and is preferably made from cod, while mixed balls consist of fish, potatoes and onions, ground into a coarse mass which is finally formed into a ball with a piece of pork in the middle.
Løvik has previously been responsible for catering for Sting when he visited the city, and without necessarily having so much local food involved, everything was produced from local ingredients. Løvik keeps a close eye on the fact that Depp is not also a vegetarian, like Beck, and that he may receive a request.
Warns against Depp scams
Knut Garshol, who runs the local Klippfiskbutikken in the city, agrees with Løvik that Depp and Beck should taste clipfish and mixed balls.
– American palates are probably not so used to clipfish, but it tends to fall in taste. Spaniards, Portuguese and French are completely silly after that. Yes, also bacalao, then. It’s almost like breast milk to rain here, he says and laughs.
24 bottles of local beer
The website The Smoking Gun, which publishes all sorts of exclusive and classified documents they have access to, also has an incomplete copy of a former rider from Jeff Beck.
The document is only on two pages, but includes, among other things, wishes big “Deli trays” – tray with delicacies – where it is specified in CAPS LOCK that meat and cheese must not be mixed with fruit and vegetables. This may be due to the fact that the main character himself is a vegetarian.
He also wants many chairs without armrests, and among the drinks we find a desire for 24 bottles of local beer.
Otherwise, it is also worth noting that female band members are given extra consideration in the section dealing with changing rooms.
“We have a female band member. Please respect her privacy », it says on a separate line in the document.
