The airline Norse tempts the American soldiers from the aircraft carrier USS “Gerald R. Ford” with cheap travel back to Norway if obligations arise in nine months.

These days, several thousand American soldiers from the aircraft carrier USS “Gerald R. Ford” are occupying Oslo.
The long-distance airline Norse Atlantic Airways is using the opportunity to offer Americans a cheap trip if circumstances dictate that they must return to the Norwegian capital in nine months, writes the website Kampanje.
«Missionary accomplished? We will see you in 9 months, sailor”, says the airline’s advertisement, where “missionary accomplished” is a pun on “mission accomplished” – in Norwegian “mission accomplished”.
– Connecting people and cultures across continents is what we live for at Norse, says Bård Nordhagen, CFO of Norse Atlantic Airways, to Kampanje.
The Norwegian condom manufacturer Geil is also playing on humor after the American move into the capital. In an advertisement for their products, they say that the venereal disease chlamydia is Norway’s most popular souvenir.
Oslo’s business community has prepared for a lot of activity while the aircraft carrier is in the city, as Dagbladet Børsen has previously mentioned. Several nightclubs have, among other things, expanded their opening hours and capacity.
