The two men, aged 26 and 29, have been charged with serious fraud.

– I can confirm that there is an 80-year-old woman who is a victim of fraud. It concerns an amount of several million kroner. Two people have been arrested and are in custody. Beyond that, I cannot comment on the case for the sake of the investigation, says police attorney Eindride Kjørri.

On Friday 3 May, the two men were remanded in custody for a period of four weeks with a letter and visiting ban. The accused, who are 26 and 29 years old, are also kept isolated from each other.

The Oslo District Court believes it is likely that the men will influence the explanation of other actors, as well as remove physical and digital evidence, if they were to be released from prison.

“It is a serious matter, and the accused cannot at the present time be said to be cooperating with the police. As the fraud is described in the case documents, it appears to be well planned and organized (…),’ says a ruling from the court.

Pleaded partially guilty

Both accused consented to remand.

– My client has pleaded partially guilty to the charge, says lawyer Cecilie Nakstad, who defends the 26-year-old.

In the imprisonment order, it is stated that the 29-year-old acknowledges part of the factual conditions in the charge. He partially pleads guilty.

E24 has been in contact with his defender, lawyer Rikke de Vibe. She does not wish to comment on the matter at this time.
