The Ulrik tunnel

– Why is there no internet in the tunnel between Arna and Bergen? Isn’t that mandatory in such long tunnels?

Regards Mette

Answer: Bane Nor owns and operates its own mobile network with train radio to provide secure communication between train driver/board personnel and train conductor. There is train radio coverage along the entire railway, also in all tunnels. However, it is the commercial mobile operators that provide coverage to customers on the train. These operators provide coverage in around 40 of the country’s longest tunnels. Whether the passengers on the train have mobile coverage in tunnels therefore depends on commercial mobile coverage in them.

Answer from Telenor: Hello. Coverage in tunnels is not required, but Telenor would like to have coverage in the tunnel between Arna and Bergen. We have an ongoing discussion with Bane Nor about the distribution of costs for such a development, but this has not yet been resolved.

Bus drivers who are sloppy

– Dear Shuttle/Tide. Can you please teach your drivers to drive close to the curb at the bus stop and not stop half way out in the street.

Some drivers manage this well, while others stop half a meter from the edge. This creates problems for a poor disabled grandmother who struggles to get on and off the bus when it gets so high up to the step. It costs so little to take a tiny bit of time to do this properly, and it saves us passengers from unnecessary stress. In addition, there are some drivers who do not stop at the terminus at Sletten, but continue up the roundabout.

We now have raised curbs on the Sletten, which have been a great help to me, so you must be able to expect the bus to stop where it is supposed to!

I understand that it can sometimes be difficult to maneuver these articulated buses, but some manage this well, while others are sloppy. We would prefer to use public transport, so it must not be too difficult for people.

Kind regards, a disabled grandmother at Sletten

Answer: Dear passenger. Thank you for taking the time to give us this feedback. First, we would just like to take this opportunity to apologize for the experiences you have had, and to emphasize that it is our highest priority to offer safe and accessible travel experiences for all our passengers. We understand that it can be particularly difficult for disabled passengers when our buses do not stop right up to the curb, or when they do not stop at the designated end stops as they should. We know that there may be traffic reasons which cause the buses to not be able to get close, but also that there is room for improvement. That is why we have a strong focus on training and follow-up of our drivers to ensure that the buses drive and are placed in the roadway in line with our standards for precision and availability. We also work purposefully to improve our routines so that all passengers can experience an easy and comfortable journey with us. Your feedback is invaluable in this work and helps us to identify and improve the areas where we do not live up to expectations. We appreciate you sharing your experiences with us, as it helps to make us better.

With friendly

Regards, Customer Center, Tide

The most beautiful

– Bergen is the nicest city in the whole world! Just look at Bryggen and the parks! Look at the flowers, and how beautifully it is kept. Not one weed!
