Plan Norge’s Instagram account has been deactivated for good, because it allegedly does not follow Meta’s community guidelines.

Plan Norge’s Instagram account has been deactivated for good, because it allegedly does not follow Meta’s community guidelines.

The organization itself writes that on Facebook.

– We have not received a more detailed explanation than that, and the appeal was rejected after a short time, the organization states.

Collection for emergency aid in Gaza stopped

Their last post on the platform was about the invasion of Rafah, and had a reach of over 45,000 and over 10,000 likes before the account was deactivated.

– Instagram is an important channel for us to reach out to our supporters and others who are interested in Plan’s work. We also had an active collection for emergency aid in Gaza, which has now stopped, Plan shares further and writes:

– We hope it is possible to solve the problem and would be grateful for any tips that can help. In the meantime, you can follow us on Facebook and LinkedIn.

Content about Gaza is blocked

Secretary General Kari Helene Partapuoli responds to KOM24 in an email:

– We do not know what has happened, but it is scary that such an important channel for us can be closed so quickly and in a way that gives us no opportunity to know for sure what the cause is. This also means that our collection work will be stopped.

– We have collected a lot of money for Gaza via Instagram and have shared a lot of content about the war. The only thing we know is that both we and others have had ads with content about Gaza blocked in the past and that we have had problems publishing content about the same topic. We hope it does not contribute to the fact that the account has been closed, but until we know we can only speculate.

KOM24 has tried to get in touch with Meta, but has not received a reply before the case was published.
