This weekend something strange is happening in Oslo

--

On Facebook, almost 20,000 have clicked “interested” in the event “Kuslipp 2024” at Bygdøy kongsgård.

I can’t think of a worse Sunday activity than taking the bus out to Bygdøy, standing close together with snotty families with children, and then watching cows (several kilometers away from me) running around after being locked up for several months.

But at the same time, it’s probably a bit cozy.

The cowslip is a clear sign that summer is almost here. And I might be a psychopath if I don’t smile at the happy animals who finally get to go to the summer pasture.

I don’t agree with myself.

In any case, here are some weekend tips (in addition to cow release, of course). And that’s not all that’s going on, it looks like most people are taking advantage of the long weekend and escaping from Oslo.

By the way! This case is based on Vink’s newsletter, which is sent out on Thursdays. There you will hear about new places that are opening, and what is happening at the weekend. In addition, every week we share some completely exclusive Oslo secrets. sign up here!

A long weekend is perfect for going on a mini-excursion. And you don’t have to go any further than Vinderen. On Sunday, the National Museum organizes the year’s first tour of Villa Stenersen. The building is considered one of the world’s most iconic houses.

  • Where: Tuengen avenue 10C
  • Price: Free, but you must have a ticket to join the tour.

Another excursion tip: Now things are starting to happen on the islands in Oslo again. Klosterkroen on Hovedøya and Gressholmen kro have opened for the season. Perfect for a lunchtime trip while we wait for summer.

Last year we made a guide to the islands which you can find here. PS: The inns have varying opening hours. Check before you leave to avoid tolls.

  • Price: A Ruter ticket for zone 1.

Shop with a conscience

The recycling company Fæbrik invites you to a pop-up: Dødsbo til dødsfett. Here they sell garments from five deceased people who were concerned with clothes. There will be suits, dresses, hats and coats. And simply a golden opportunity to find something very special for the dress season. Check out some samples in the video on the second slide!

  • Where: Operagata 65 C, Bjørvika
  • When: Saturday 10–17 and Sunday 11–16

Kickstart Monday with a hangover

The season for outdoor dining is underway. I came across the happy news that Prindsen’s garden invites you to “bubbles & brunch” every Sunday. They promise good prices. Let’s all hope that it won’t be like cava Sunday in Trondheim (those who know, know).

  • When: From 16.00 every Sunday
  • Where: Chr. Krohgs gate 15, Grønland
