This is a debate post. It expresses the debater’s own attitude.

We don’t need anyone car in Trondheim, it is said. Buildings are being built in the city, but parking spaces are not for everyone.

I believe that Trondheim’s politicians do not understand what they are doing to the citizens, what kind of society they are building. It looks nice on paper, but it doesn’t work in everyday life for the vast majority of people.

That’s why I want to will present a challenge to those who sit and decide in Trondheim:

Live a year without a car. Not a week, but an entire calendar year. And it must apply to everyone in the same household. Adults and children – no access to a car.

You can travel by public transport. Use a bike or walk – it’s good exercise.

Does the kindergarten not open early enough, if you have to take a bus? No problem, you can just go down into position.

Do you want an exception because you are going to the cabin? Nope, public transport there too. Will it be a long way to go with luggage from the stop? Think positively: Buy a bicycle.

Do you think you can hang out with someone, to and from work? No, then there will be a fine. You must be completely car-free.

No, no one has to go to Midtbyen, but it should be easier for those who actually want to

Here the car parks in Midtbyen can disappear: – We want to give the most beautiful city spaces back to people

Taxi? Ok, it’s going well, but a maximum of two trips a month.

Wholesale? Buy a backpack and take the bus.

If you have a bit of a bad day, maybe a little back pain. Then you take two buses to the doctor’s office, even if the bus is sightseeing and it takes 1.5 hours, each way.

Stop whining!

If you have elderly parents who need to be followed here and there, take the bus, there are walkers.

Do you have to use up time off to get everything done? That’s not our problem.

By the way, you don’t need visitors at home either. Here we have nine guest parking spaces spread over 120 apartments! If it is full, the guests can only turn around. Better luck next time.

The sewing association will come, five of them. It doesn’t work, you can only have two of the guests’ cars in the parking facility.

Do you want visit from someone from out of town, so nice! Are they going to stay with you for a whole week? No that does not work. Guests can park here, if there is space, for a maximum of three days.

Good luck with the challenge!
