Agricultural Settlement, Escalation Plan | The state will make its offer at 12 o’clock

--

Today comes the state's offer in this year's agricultural negotiations.

On Monday morning, it became clear that the Ministry of Agriculture and Food will make its offer at 12 noon.

The state's head of negotiations, Viil Søyland, will present the state's offer. Bjørn Gimming, leader of the Norwegian Farmers' Association and Tor Jacob Solberg, leader of the Norwegian Farmers' and Small Farmers' Association will also be present.

The farmers have submitted a claim of 3.9 billion. Central to the demand is to reduce the difference in income between farmers and ordinary wage earners. Almost 1.9 billion must be used to close the income gap, is the demand from agriculture.

On Monday, it is expected that the state's head of negotiations, Viil Søyland, will present the state's offer. The parties then have until 16 May to agree on a settlement that can be forwarded to the Storting.

If the parties do not agree, there will be a break in the negotiations. Then the state's offer to farmers can go straight to Parliament, without agriculture having its say.
