--

The man, who is in his 20s, was accused of driving extremely fast 25 times.

The highest speed should have been measured at 238 km/h, in an 80 zone.

Eight of the times he maintained a seriously high speed, he is said to have driven on one wheel. At most, the man should have been measured at 177 km/h on the rear wheel.

When the man appeared in Nord-Troms and Senja district court at the end of April, he admitted all the conditions.

The man confessed to all the circumstances, and was sentenced through a confessional verdict.

In the confession verdict, he was sentenced to one year in prison.

He was denied the right to hold a driver’s license forever.

And the court confiscated his motorcycle.

Filmed several of the drives

These shall be the highest speeds used in the judgment:

  • 80 zone: 238 km/h, 177 km/h (3 times) and 166 km/h
  • 70 zone: 158 km/h
  • 60 zone: 119 km/h and 111 km/h
  • 50 zone: 127 km/h and 97 km/h

The man is said to have filmed several of the driving trips for which he was convicted. The videos were used as evidence in court. In the videos, the man is also seen taking part in racing.

On at least one of the drives, he is said to have used a mobile phone, while maintaining a speed of around 100 km/h.

He is said to have taken several overtakes, and occasionally driven in inhabited areas.

It must have been raining and wet on several of the occasions when the man drove rough.

The prosecution assumed that the man both committed serious traffic offenses and put himself and others at risk.

Received fines previously

The accused and his friends are said to have checked that there was little traffic on the road when they drove, but the court did not emphasize this.

Due to the fact that the videos of the rough driving were published online and that the man has received fines for speeding in the past, the court has given a more severe punishment.

As the man gave an unreserved confession in the case, the court has given some penalty discount.
