Several residents of Furuset in Oslo got a surprise on Saturday afternoon when a car came whizzing through several gardens. The car plowed down several large tuja hedges that screen the gardens.

– It sounded like a bomb, or like a landslide. Then we see the car speed past, says one of the residents who VG has spoken to, but who wishes to remain anonymous.

The weather was glorious in the capital on Saturday. He describes it as pure coincidence that they were not outside when the car arrived.

– This is where we usually stay on summer days like this. It was children’s TV time when the car arrived.

Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of the garden crash. But the car took a serious beating, and the resident says that both the trampoline for the children and the lawnmower have been smashed.

Exactly what happened is so far a mystery, even to the police.

– The car has hit and damaged objects in all four gardens. There were three people in the car, says police operations manager Bjørn Gunnar Nysæther to VG.

– We open a case and confiscate the driver’s license. We have no information that intoxication is suspected. They will be questioned on the spot, he continues.

Just after 19:00, the car was lifted out by a crane truck.
