The summer heat gives way in the south of Norway

--

At least for this time.

– It’s just about enjoying the nice, warm weather while we have it. Because it doesn’t last.

That’s what meteorologist Siri Wiberg at the Meteorological Institute says.

– The temperature will probably drop slightly in southern Norway from Sunday and throughout the week. It’s not that cold, more normal temperatures. Between ten and 15 degrees, but no summer heat anymore.

But it is still possible to have one last summer evening before spring returns. On Saturday, it will be well over 20 degrees in large parts of the country.

Oslo or Tenerife?

The three comrades Mads Berli, Markus Busch and Jens Bror Mørland have accepted the meteorologist’s call. On Friday, they were also visited by a friend from abroad.

– I considered whether I should go to Oslo or Tenerife. The weather was better here, so I went here!

That’s what the Dublin-based American Haakon Sørensen says. Mørland has the Holmenkollen Relay just around the corner, but just today he doesn’t let that stop the fun.

– I don’t want to sit inside for half the day at first, he says.

– We have already done that for half a year, Berli chimes in.

Ice cream and sandals

A few stone’s throw away sit mum Ingvild, dad Johannes, Konrad (8) and Niels (5). They are enjoying the sun on Operastranda.

– We bought sandals, ate ice cream… That’s really it, says elder brother Konrad.

While Konrad is being interviewed by VG, the youngest Niels has decided to wreak havoc in the sand. He is not alone in that. There are plenty of people who have made the trip to the beach zone.

– We have cycled through the city, adds Johannes.

– And played with Lego, says Ingvild.

In the southernmost areas it will start to cloud on Saturday evening, says Wiberg. She singles out Rogaland, Agder and southern parts of Eastern Norway.

– There may be some showers a little late this afternoon.

There will also be showers in the north.

At the same time that the southerners have to lubricate themselves with factor, the northerners must once again prepare for “dirty weather”.

– There will be scattered rainfall in Troms and Finnmark. It comes as sleet and snow in Finnmark and at high altitude in Troms.

Wiberg says that the weather is fine in large parts of Nordland.

Wiberg says there is a front between the warm air in the south and the cold air in the north.

– Will it get warmer for the northerners during the week?

– It doesn’t get very hot in the north. It is Troms and Finnmark that are in the cold, but it spreads towards Nordland, and the last part of the week towards Trøndelag and Møre and Romsdal.

– It has been a hard winter, but they still have to wait a bit for spring in the north.
